Abstract
<p>A biphasic behavior observed on the reaction rate of a model S<sub>N</sub>Ar reaction in ionic liquid/water mixtures was explained by preferential solvation effects in water rich mixtures, and an anion effect in mixtures with high ionic liquid content.</p>
