Abstract
<jats:p>The expert committees for travel medicine of Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands and Switzerland endorse joint malaria prevention recommendations for travellers. Here, the methodological approach underlying these recommendations, including evidence sources used, risk category definitions and the role of expert opinion, is outlined.</jats:p>
